Katya Dmitrievna Feinstein was born in Moscow, Russia and moved to America with her family in 1992. She was raised speaking both English and Russian, and is fluent in both. She grew up in Centerville, Utah and graduated from Viewmont High School in 2008 with high honors and an associate degree of applied science in Cosmetology and Barbering from Salt Lake Community College. Attending early college during high school was an amazing opportunity and she was ecstatic to be so ahead of the game out of high school. Keeping a high GPA and award winning attendance, Katya continued her education at SLCC and received her Masters Esthetician License the following year. Esthetics is a passion of Katya’s, and she hopes to someday start a skincare line or possibly have a salon/spa franchise of her own. After her reign, Katya plans to attend business school at Argosy University in Draper, Utah.
Katya leads a very active lifestyle, having participated in many sports growing up including soccer, dance, gymnastics and competitive cheerleading. Staying healthy and fit is very important to her, and she would love to spread the message to help children of all ages learn about eating right and being active. Working with children is a lot of fun for Katya. She currently works as a hair stylist at a salon in her hometown that is just for kids. She loves what she does and hopes to continue working with and helping children in the future.
Family and friends are very important to Katya. Without the love and support of her parents, Dmitry and Elena Feinstein, her world would cease to spin. Her awesome sisters, Dasha and Lesya, make her life a blast and she loves them very much. She has the greatest friends in the world, who have her back through thick in thin. Thanks for all of your love!!! I miss you daddy, love you forever.
Katya has been competing in pageants for a few years, winning the title of MISS UTAH TEEN USA® in 2008 for her first pageant and then competing at MISS TEEN USA® 2008 in the Bahamas! It wasn’t long until she caught the pageant bug again and was ready for more action. Winning MISS UTAH USA® has been a dream come true for Katya. She understands that with this amazing opportunity comes great responsibility and is so happy to be representing the great state of Utah, devoting another year of service and making a difference. She can’t wait to begin! A huge thank you goes out to all of her friends, family and sponsors!
Katya hopes everyone will come support her when she competes for the title of MISS USA® 2010 in Las Vegas this April at Planet Hollywood!!!
